1958 Porsche 356A (T2) Speedster
The Porsche Speedster was a lightweight, convertible version of the 356 that was produced from 1954 to 1958. Designed with a minimal ragtop, spartan interior, and snap-on windows, the goal of the speedster was a small, light, and low cost sports car. The lightweight design, combined with Porsche’s improved Carrera engine, also made them successful racers.
The last of the 356A Speedsters are probably the most attractive and the most desirable. The 356A (T2) Speedster was introduced in September 1957 and continued until the basic Speedster was replaced by the Convertible D in August 1958 although a number of Carrera, GS and GT Speedsters were produced in 1959.
